Installing on a Mac
Download the disk image
Open the download page and choose macOS. The file is a .dmg of about 33 MB and there is one build for every Mac — Apple Silicon and Intel alike.

Double-click the downloaded .dmg. A window opens showing the Hangly app beside a shortcut to your Applications folder.
Drag Hangly into Applications
Drag the app icon onto the Applications shortcut. Copying takes a second or two.
Eject the disk image
Click the eject arrow beside the mounted image in the Finder sidebar, then move the downloaded .dmg to the Trash. Nothing needs it again.
Launch Hangly
Open Applications and double-click Hangly. It is signed and notarised, so it opens without a Gatekeeper warning.
Pick a charm
A charm appears hanging from the top of your screen. Use the Hangly icon in the menu bar to open Customize and choose from the eleven collections, change the cord, or drop in an image of your own.

Installing on Windows
Check your processor
Open Settings, then System, then About, and read System type. An ARM-based processor needs the ARM64 build; anything else needs x64. Do not rely on the browser's guess — a Windows-on-ARM machine reports itself as x64.
Download the installer
Take the matching build from the Windows download page. It is a Setup .exe published on the project's GitHub releases.
Run it past SmartScreen
Windows may show a blue "Windows protected your PC" panel, because the build is not code-signed yet. Choose More info, then Run anyway.
Let the installer finish
Velopack installs Hangly for the current user and starts it. There is nothing to choose and no bundled extras.
Pick a charm
A charm appears hanging from the top of your screen. The tray icon opens the settings, where the collections, the cord and custom images live.

When something does not look right
Nothing appeared after launching. Look for the Hangly icon in the menu bar or the system tray. If it is there, the app is running and the charm is probably on another display — open Customize and place it.
macOS says the app is damaged. Almost always an interrupted download rather than a problem with the build, which is notarised. Delete it, empty the Trash and download again.
Windows blocked the installer entirely. Some corporate machines refuse unsigned installers outright rather than offering Run anyway. That is a policy set by whoever manages the machine, and there is no way around it from this side.
